From understanding how the kitchen works to using the air conditioning, we’ve put together simple instructions to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Where to put your things!
Where Should I Put My Luggage?
In the living room, behind the sofa, you’ll find a beautiful vintage trunk—just like the ones people used to store their clothes in long ago. You can carefully place your suitcase on top of it. If you’d like to free up space, feel free to unpack your luggage and store it neatly under the bed.
How Can I Organize My Clothes?
In the bedroom, there’s a rail with hangers for anything you’d like to keep wrinkle-free. For folded clothes, the TV cabinet in the living room has been specially designed to hold them—either in its cupboard or drawers. Fun fact: this piece of furniture, known as a “komos” in the past, originally served as a wardrobe, and this one has been passed down from my great-grandmother!
Where Should I Keep My Shoes?
There’s a charming old cabinet in the living room, once used in traditional kitchens. The lower section has a spacious cupboard with a shelf in the middle—perfect for keeping your shoes neatly tucked away during your stay.
Toiletries & Personal Items
Your personal care products and toiletries can be stored in the bathroom cabinet, keeping everything organized and within easy reach.
Stay Cool & Cozy!
Cool when you need it, cozy when you want it—comfort made simple!
Our home is equipped with two air conditioning units—one in the living room and one in the bedroom. If you’d like to keep both the bathroom and bedroom cool, we recommend closing the hallway door for better temperature control.
In the evenings, the fresh breeze in Loutses creates the perfect atmosphere for a restful night’s sleep. When the temperature is mild, try opening the balcony door and the hallway window (always with the screens closed!) to enjoy the natural coolness of the island.
Please avoid using the A/C with windows open, as it won’t work efficiently and increases energy consumption, which isn’t great for the environment.
For the best performance and energy efficiency, we suggest setting the temperature to 26°C for heating and 24°C for cooling—this keeps the house comfortable while being eco-friendly.
And one last tip: whenever you leave the house, please turn off the A/C. It only takes about 5 minutes to cool or warm up the space when you return!
Hot Water
Warm showers, made simple—just switch on and unwind!
Our home has an electric water heater, perfect for two people. Whenever you’d like a warm shower, simply switch it on from the main electrical panel located in the bedroom. You’ll find a labeled switch to make it easy to identify.
On colder days (below 15°C), the water takes about 30 minutes to heat up—just enough for two quick showers or one long, relaxing bath.
During warmer days, the sun naturally heats the water, so you might not even need to turn the heater on!
💡 Tip: Turn off the heater after use to save energy and keep everything running smoothly.
Cooking at Pouglia – A Delightful Experience
A kitchen made for memories—cook, taste, and enjoy!
Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, whether you’re preparing a quick breakfast or a delicious meal for two.
You’ll find all the essentials: an oven, ceramic stovetop, extractor fan, and a spacious refrigerator with a freezer—everything a well-functioning kitchen requires. But we’ve gone a step further! Coffee makers, a kettle, a toaster, and an air fryer make cooking quick and effortless. And for those who love fresh flavors, we’ve also provided a juicer and a multi-blender so you can enjoy every moment in the kitchen.
Cooking utensils and tools are all here, along with some essential ingredients to get you started. Our family’s own olive oil, made from locally harvested olives, will add that extra special touch to your dishes.
Make the most of Greece’s incredible fresh ingredients, try new recipes, and create meals that will make your stay at Pouglia even more unforgettable!
Airfryer Functionality
Crispy, quick, and easy—let the Airfryer work its magic!
To use the Airfryer, simply place your food inside the basket. Close it and select the type of food you’d like to cook. Then, press the corresponding icon and hit the start button. The Airfryer will automatically calculate the cooking time and temperature, so you can relax while it does the work.
Remember to stir the food occasionally for even cooking results!
After Use:
- Clean the Airfryer with water, soap, and a soft sponge.
- Important: Do not use sauces or liquids while cooking with the Airfryer!
Using the Washing Machine
Fresh clothes, easy steps—just load, press, and relax!
The washing machine is located in the bathroom. To the right of it, you’ll find the power outlet—simply plug it into the socket just outside the bathroom, beneath the light switch.
How to Start a Wash Cycle:
- Plug in the machine.
- Load your laundry. Place your clothes inside the drum.
- Add detergent. Use a detergent capsule and place it directly in the drum.
- Select a program. Choose the appropriate cycle from the options below.
- Press the start button.
Recommended Programs:
For dark & colored clothes:
- Turn the rotary dial to program 7.
- Select your desired temperature.
- Press start.
- This program separates the spin cycle from the main wash. Once the wash is complete, the dial will stop at a specific point.
- Turn the pwoer buttom off, turn the spin circle to the symbol right next, push the start button again.
For white clothes:
- Turn the rotary dial to program 2.
- Select your temperature.
- Press start.
Opening the Door After Washing:
When the cycle is finished, press the start button again to turn off the machine. Wait one minute, then you can safely open the door and remove your laundry.
Drying Your Laundry
Freshly washed, sun-dried—just the way it should be!
To the right of the washing machine, you’ll find two drying racks—one that attaches to the balcony railing and a foldable one. Feel free to use whichever suits you best, or even both if needed!
Entertainment & Relaxation
Game nights, movie marathons, and endless fun—make yourself at home!
At Pouglia, fun is always part of the experience! You’ll find a variety of board games to enjoy during your stay, perfect for spending quality time in the cozy yard. Each game comes with instructions inside the box, but you can also find online guides in your preferred language, as they are all well-known worldwide.
We kindly ask you to take care of the games, as some contain small, essential pieces needed for play. If any part gets lost or damaged, please let us know so we can replace it or adjust the selection for future guests.
The board games are stored in the cabinet in the kitchen which is underneath the a/c unit.
For your movie nights, the smart TV is already connected to the WiFi —just sit back, relax, and enjoy your favorite series and films!

Respect the Space
🏡 Smoking is not allowed indoors. You are welcome to smoke outside, but please use the provided ashtrays.
Water is not for drinking. Unfortuatelly water is not suitable for drining in Corfu. Please buy and use Bottles from the super market of mineral or natural water.
🕰️ Quiet hours are from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Let’s respect our neighbors and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
🏺 The house is decorated with family antiques and heirlooms. Each piece has sentimental and historical value, so please treat them with care.
Keeping Things Tidy
🗑️ Please help us keep the space clean. Before checking out, kindly take out the trash and recycling to the designated bins.
🔑 Always lock doors and windows when leaving the house for security and energy efficiency.
🛑 The house entrance is equipped with a security camera for your safety.
Keys & Security
🔑 Please take care of the keys and do not leave them in public areas. In case of los an extra fee of 8€ will be charged.
Being a Respectful Guest
🌍 Enjoy your stay while being respectful of the local community and environment. Keep noise levels down in shared areas and maintain cleanliness in and around the house.
